An original reduction linocut in rustic solid oak frame by Rosie Fairfax-Cholmeley from an edition of 12 hand-printed on our Albion Press.
Red Woods is from a sketch made in autumn Wytham Woods, located on the edge of Oxford, when the desiccated stems of the bluebells litter the earth below the beech trees. The ditches in this scene are the remains of the old WW1 training trenched, dug in the Woods in the 1910's and now a firm part of the landscape.
The mushrooms in the print are inspired from one of J.R.R. Tolkein's sketches for 'The Hobbit'.
