Combining concrete and deep red resin, Core takes its inspiration from the layers beneath the Earth’s surface. The rough, broken edge of the concrete meets the rich translucent resin almost like molten rock, giving a sense of the heat and energy hidden deep below.
When lit, the resin glows from within, bringing that idea to life and transforming the piece from a solid sculptural form into a warm, atmospheric lamp.
A thoughtful piece that sits comfortably between art, craft and functional design—and a wonderful example of the creativity of local maker Darren Rumley.
