A Great Tit coming to land, carved in oak. Oak is a very hard, large grained wood not at all suited to woodcuts - however this print was made as part of the One Oak project. An oak tree on the Blenheim Estate, Oxfordshire was studied, felled then divided among all different artists and crafts people before being re-assembled now from all the different things that had been made out of it - there was then a travelling exhibition that sought to educate about the importance of trees, both ecologically and to man. We were the printmakers on the project.
