Möbius Deconstructed - Black

  • £300

Glazed stoneware ceramic inspired by the Möbius strip.

The Möbius is so named after the mathematician that found an equation that describes this enigmatic form. The piece starts out as a slab which is twisted at one end and joined onto the other. This has the effect of creating an object that has no beginning or end, but which, unlike the circle has only one edge and one surface - very odd! In cutting the openings in the piece, one passes through one surface to the same surface on the other side, even odder. However, what really captivated Adrian was the dynamic sense of movement both round and through the piece.

Available in various sizes.
