"Inside the original stone I could see a darker rind-like seam of alabaster. I worked around this feature making the juicy segments within its curve. The name ‘citrus’ reflects this juicy theme. It is the second sculpture made with this title. Alabaster is a beautifully translucent stone. When this brown stone is lit from behind it reveals wonderfully warm orange shades."

Series: Vitality
This is a series looking at the different aspects of Vitality. Femoris is the strongest muscle in the legs of the female, Citrus is a source of vitamins for an active healthy life and Chartreuse is the verdant green colour of vegetative and herbal life. The variety of the colours also reflects the wide-ranging aspects of vitality. The stones bring vitality from over the world from Zimbabwe, Italy and Scotland respectively.
