Colin Clark
Colin’s art is deeply inspired by nature, drawing from the beauty of woodlands, wildflowers, and the sea. He ventures into the landscape, experiencing it in all seasons and weather, and brings these impressions back to his studio, where they inspire his oil paintings, watercolours, and ink work.
Originally trained in Silversmithing and Jewellery, Colin spent nearly 20 years in that field, where his love for drawing was first cultivated. His passion for exploring ideas through art led him to complete an MA in Illustration in 2021, which further deepened his creative practice.
Now a full-time artist, Colin continues to explore the fragile and fierce beauty of nature, reflecting on how it resonates with our lives through his work.
Colin has pioneered as style that he has termed 'Chromatic Texturism'. His visual language emphasizes richly textured oil paintings with highly saturated colours. Whilst his work shares some superficial characteristics with Pointillism, it is very distinctive because of the texture and use of colour.
