Paul Dance (Dancie) has been working with wood for over 10 years, and has developed his own individual style, experimenting with various ways of colouring and texturing his work to make it unique.

His passion is wood - inspired by the purity of nature, and the magnificence of trees, to show the natural beauty of wood. No two pieces will ever be the same, even if the shape is similar, the grain will make sure it’s different.

Paul has also worked as a still life advertising photographer for over 30 years - his work has been published all over the world, and highly praised by clients and advertising agencies for his attention to detail. He has lectured in both Photography and Creative Design, and has been a commercial hot air balloon pilot, flying passengers all over the UK and Europe!

Paul currently works part time for a company affiliated to the NHS, viewing the retinal images of diabetic patients and assessing the pathology. He lives and works from Melksham in Wiltshire, with his wife Ernestina and their cat Cielo.

Most of the wood Paul works with is sourced from Somerset. He has sold his pieces to private collectors in Japan, Australia, USA and recently Israel.
