Pete Morton
Pete Morton is an Oxfordshire based woodturner and carver; utilising locally and ethically sourced timber. As a conservationist part of his everyday life celebrates trees and the ecological roles which they play. His works embraces the versatility, variety and beauty of wild wood and often the role ecology can play within the material itself.
Self-taught and with over a decade “covered in wood shavings”, his reach has progressed from whittling to carving, to chainsaw sculpture and wood turning. Utilising stains, paints, pyrography and carving to enhance his work, he aims to convey his many inspirations through wood as an aesthetic and tactile medium.
